History of Lower Seletar
Lower Seletar Reservoir was completed in 1986 by damming Sungei Seletar; the dam is called Yishun Dam. The scheme also built stormwater ponds across the town to collect runoff.
In 2004 it became the first local reservoir open for sailing. The Seletar Country Club has stood on high ground above the reservoir since 1930, and the Orchid Country Club opened nearby in 1993.
